Nokia Windows 8 Phone Models Getting Ready

Nokia has unveiled the news regarding its new Windows 8 phone models which is planned to hit the market soon. The reports are indicating the name of two Windows 8 running handset which is now named as Qualcomm Fluid and Nokia Fluid.

The officials have also confirmed that these two are Windows Phone 8 handsets which are powered to run on IE10. Both these mobile handsets appeared on Verizon as well as T-Mobile networks for testing.

Qualcomm Fluid and Nokia Fluid will emerge out to the customers in the same network. Coming to the resolution, both the handsets will have different screen resolution of 768×768 pixels and 480×480 pixels. Reports also points out that both Qualcomm Fluid as well as Nokia Fluid will come with LTE connectivity. Some of the other specs of these Nokia Windows 8 phone models include:

Both these names have first appeared on an occasional gamer site. At first on hearing both these handsets name, there was a little dilemma regarding whether Qualcomm Fluid is the chip included in Nokia Fluid or are they separate handsets.

In addition to the Qualcomm Fluid and Nokia Fluid, the gamer site also showed various other upcoming handset of Nokia including Lumia 719, 800c, 610 and much more. In addition to the new upcoming Nokia Windows 8 phone models, Nokia has already launched its Windows Phone powered handsets including Lumia 710, Lumia 900 and Lumia 800.

It is also expected that these two handsets will have powerful processor along with dedicated GPU. Also a rear as well as front camera is expected apart from the enhanced multimedia offerings. Moreover, the main highlight is its LTE connectivity which facilitates user to carry out web browsing at a faster speed. Yet another notable feature of Nokia Windows 8 phone models is its capability to handle Windows platform running games.

However, the sources are not reporting any details regarding the exact price or release dates of these new Nokia Windows 8 phone models.

Microsoft is Working On Dual Display For Smartphones

Microsoft is working on dual display system for the smartphones. The firm is in plans to implement two sided display system for the tablets and smartphones. The main display will be accompanied by the low powered display at the back.

The secondary display of low power will show generic information that are not shown on the main one. It can be used to display logos, photos and other important notifications like time and unread messages.

The main intention of this concept is to make the low power displays to show content that changes frequently. It also involves a secondary processor for the back panel screen. The idea of displaying frequently changing content in the secondary display will help the main screen and processor to go to sleep mode.

These secondary and low power screens can be bendable and mounted on the smartphones with contour design bearing as well. For example, e-Ink displays can be used at the back of the devices with LCD or AMOLED screens.

HTC to Launch 10 New Phones in India

HTC is planning to launch 10 new phones in 2012. These models are aimed to fall in different price points to attract all ranges of consumers, said the manager of HTC India, Faisal Siddique.

He added that they have 18 models at present and they are about to launch seven to 10 models this year. The list includes the HTC One S that will be launched in six to seven weeks. It is a dual core processor smartphone with 4.3 inch display.

HTC has already rolled out the One series of smartphones such as One X and One V on April 2. The One X is the world’s first smartphone to have five processors. These smartphones are available for a price in India of Rs 37,88 and Rs 18,229 respectively.

The company has integrated Dropbox, cloud based storage with the phone to allow the users to have 25 GB free storage. Recently, HTC also announced that it will drop the QWERTY hardware for the phones. So we can expect full touch phones from the company.

HTC is aiming to attract the photographers to the One series smartphones. It has tied up with National Geography channel and the photographers of the latter will use the phones in the field conditions.

Instagram becomes No.1 free app in iTunes

Instagram has become the No.1 free app in the iTunes app store. It can be seen at the No.1 position on the download chart. This is the first time that Instagram is in the first position in the App Store. This was announced by Instagram itself on Twitter.

Most probably, this might be due to the acquisition by Facebook. The acquisition of the photo sharing app was widespread. May be, the $1 billion acquisition could have made even those unfamiliar with the app to get curious and know what it is all about.

Coming to its display specs, LG VS930 features a colour AH-IPS TFT display with an impressive resolution range of 720 x 1280 pixels. It doesn’t have any physical keys. The functionalities of physical keys are replaced by the capacitive multi touchpad screen. 

Other features of LG VS930 include Linux Operating System Kernel, 2x Qualcomm Krait CPU Core, ARMv7 Instruction Set, LPDDR2 SDRAM and Flash EEPROM.
