I Dont Know Tara Chowdary: Rayapati

Tara Chowdary episode took a new twist with an audio tape purported to have been made by the actress dragged Congress MP from Guntur Lok Sabha Constituency Rayapati Sambasiva Rao into the controversy.

However, Rayapati denied the allegations terming them as baseless and said 'some forces' were behind the malicious campaign aimed at harming his reputation.

The audio tape televised by media channels showed Tara allegedly speaking to an undisclosed person over phone saying that Rayapati had offered her anything between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 crore if she could defame his rival Kanna Lakshminarayana.

According to the televised audio tape, Tara tells the man on the other side that she did not even see Kanna and she could not defame him as he appears to be a nice person.

Instead, it is Rayapati who takes her services for massage and forces her for sending call girls to his guest house. Rayapati also used to threaten her by sending his gunmen for which her maid and some others were witnesses.

The woman over the phone, who is said to be Tara, tells the person on the other end that Rayapati wanted her to blame Kanna and tried to lure her by reminding her that they belonged to same caste.

Strongly denying the allegations, Rayapati told media persons in Hyderabad yesterday that the allegations were baseless and he never gave money to anyone to harm the reputation of Kanna or anyone.

He also said people knew his character and baseless allegations made by a woman like Tara Chowdary would not be taken seriously as everybody knew by now what kind of a woman she was.

Rayapati also said that he being a Lok Sabha member, a lot of people meet him for different things and he do not remember whether Tara met him at any point of time. 'Let the CBI probe the allegations and truth will come out,' he said.

Meanwhile, the confession made by Tara before the Banjara Hills police when she was arrested a week ago, was accessed by the media on Thursday.

Her confession made to the police was submitted to the Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at the Nampally court. Tara's confession al document reads :'I have studied up to BA and acting in films is my aim.

I have acted in three films, but entered prostitution to meet the expenditure on my lavish lifestyle.

I have been hiring and also influencing girls for prostitution for the last six years and I used to pay anything between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 a week for the sex workers engaged by me. Rich people, VIPs and police officials are my clients.

I used to record them while in compromising position with me using pen camera and later extort money by threatening them over phone. I met the late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy through Srinivasa Rao, a Congress leader from Tenali.

I have a photograph taken with Rajasekhara Reddy when I met him. I have used the photograph and claimed that he was very close to me and also used the photograph to extort money.'

Meanwhile, Banjara Hills police have sent the audio and video CDs seized from Tara's house to forensic lab for examination to verify their genuineness.

On the other hand, Tara had filed a petition before the court seeking bail and the court reserved its orders for Friday after hearing both sides. She was granted bail in two out of three cases and a decision is pending on the third one.
