A degree final year student on Sunday committed suicide by setting himself ablaze reportedly for the cause of Telangana.
The deceased, 22-year-old Dasari Naresh, who was doing BSc (Maths) final year from Nivedita Degree College, took the extreme step at his residence at Kothakota on Sunday morning.
According to Kothakota police, Naresh wrote a four-page suicide note and kept it on the television set. Then he locked himself in the bathroom and committed suicide by setting himself ablaze. He died on the spot.
In his suicide note, Naresh said that he was upset over the delay in the formation of Telangana and therefore, committing suicide. He said his suicide should be eye-opener for all the political parties who should ensure statehood for the region. Further investigations into the case are on.
